In addition to our exceptional Montessori learning program, we also offer the following optional extra-curricular programs.  Fees for the activities are paid directly to the entity that provides them and are not included in Montessori Country Day’s tuition, unless otherwise noted.

You’ll receive information about each program at the beginning of its season.

Art Class

Each Tuesday, Miss Bettie Berkley teaches Art Class. She has worked with children and art for 30 years, teaching every age from pre-K through high school.

This year we made salt dough clay, sawdust and soap clay, life-size self portraits, mobiles, and paper collages. We have also explored the color wheel, primary, secondary and tertiary colors, and color blending with white and black.

Not every Art Day produces a take home example. At these ages, it is more important to have positive art experiences and to be exposed to art language and concepts. This summer we will continue Art Class and include outdoor projects like murals, bubble painting, and wooden totems.

Art Class is included with your regular tuition.

Center Stage Dance

Every Thursday, Center Stage Dance Studio owner, Michelle Lee offers a Tumblebug class or Pre-Ballet dance class for ages 2 1/2-6.  Children will enjoy a 45-minute tumbling and dance class with an experienced instructor.  An introduction to fundamental dance technique for preschool aged students, this class uses classic ballet vocabulary along with age-appropriate stretches, games, props, songs and preliminary acrobatics.

Soccer Shots

Soccer Shots is a nationally recognized program that offers a fun, high-energy and age-appropriate introduction to the wonderful game of soccer. It is offered to children ages 3-5.  Lessons are generally held each Friday throughout the season.  In addition to soccer, they work on improving children’s gross motor skills and teaching children important concepts such as teamwork, sharing and respect.  Soccer Shots instructors are enthusiastic and passionate about working with kids.  Their goal is to leave a lasting and positive impact on every child they serve!
